Hey All,
Proud to say I haven't died [though I've come close enough]. I've decided to become a vegan after reading Peta's highly recommended, Skinny Bitch, by Rory Freedman and Kate Barnouin. It was amazingly well written, and I recommend it for anyone trying to eat healthier, lose weight, or learn what the USDA and FDA are hiding.
Follow it up with Freedman and Barnouin's Skinny Bitch in the Kitch. Recipes for all meals for vegetarians and vegans, as well as healty-eaters. I got an amazing recipe for "Green Garden Pasta", which rocks my world.
Another favourite go veggie book of mine is Vegetables Rock! by Stephanie Pierson. It's got all the know-hows and what-to-do's about vegetarianism.
Check your local library for these must-reads, but I would tell you that buying them is 100% worth the cost.
[For those of you who don't want to overspend your budget, check them out on amazon.com, where you can buy new and used copies for less than the booklist price.]
***PS: Don't do what I did; order Skinny Bitch in Spanish [unless you want to] because it's very easy to mistake it for a regular version.
Catch you on the wild side!
~Nora
